Logos

Logos, (Greek: “word,” “reason,” or “plan”)plural logoi, in Greek philosophy and theology, the divine reason implicit in the cosmos, ordering it and giving it form and meaning.

It could be said logos is the scaffolding that upholds, or the thread that weaves together our reality. If so, then at his best perhaps the logician is one who investigates, or even discovers, some fraction of the nuance, detail, or drift of that reality.

Orthodox Christianity suggests a deeper definition of logos, one that includes even our own thoughts about logos, which are, along with all of creation, known or unknown, also contained within the mind of God. We may think of Heidegger’s clearing in this regard, but take it further to reason that even the darkness beyond the clearing is contained within God and defined by logos.

All worldviews and belief systems are ultimately circular. We are not given to know the darkness beyond the clearing. Faith, is therefore a fixed feature of our experience, whether we acknowledge it or not. The humility to simply observe such an intimacy of Being likely marks the beginning of any genuine interaction with reality.

tracking

The fundamental skill in hunting.

Tracking is the visual location and analysis of material spoor, or sign, with the goal of pursuing the originator of that acquired spoor. The tracks of an animal are letters forming words and sentences. Tracking is reading the full text.

The reading is the art, the coincidence of reason and imagination.

From the tracks we project an image into our minds of the quarry and ask where it was, where will it go now, and what will it do when it gets there? The level of immersive detail we can summon is proportionate to our reliability as trackers.

Experience, luck, tradition, instruction, talent are all factors. However, heart, will, self control, and perseverance combined with some predilection or inclination towards the truth will decide the tracker’s fate. The pursuit of the immaterial-thought, spirit, aether, etc.-is not any different.

ConspirE

Conspiracies constitute the motive force of history. Despite counter-propaganda and indoctrination suggesting the contrary, conspiracy is the way the world of men actually works. And it has always been so. Violence, of course, whether kinetic or psychological, seems to be how that motive is then translated into physical change.
